Job Responsibilities

Teaching and Instruction

To provide high-quality, engaging lessons in Biology to senior school students Class 11-12, based on the school curriculum and guidelines set by educational boards like CBSE or ICSE.
Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments to help students understand key biological concepts, principles and practical applications.
Conducting practical laboratory sessions to demonstrate biological experiments, reinforcing theoretical learning with practical experience.

Course Plan

To design and develop Biology curriculum in a manner that complies with Board requirements, incorporates current scientific advancements and promotes critical thinking skills of students.
Regularly update and adapt teaching strategies and materials based on student progress and changes in educational standards.

Assessment and Evaluation

Designing assessments such as quizzes, tests, assignments, and projects to evaluate students’ understanding of biology concepts.
Providing constructive feedback on students’ work, helping them improve academically.
Maintaining records of students’ performance and academic progress, as well as preparing students for the final board examinations.

Classroom Management

Managing a disciplined, respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
Encourage active participation, foster curiosity and promote a love of biology.
Addressing the diverse learning needs of students by providing additional support or challenging tasks where necessary.

Student Engagement and Motivation

To encourage critical reflection, discussion and debate on current biological research and developments.
Organizing extracurricular activities such as science fairs, biology clubs, or field trips to enhance learning beyond the classroom.
To provide counselling and guidance to students regarding career opportunities in the field of biology like medical science, research or environmental studies.

Professional Development

Keeping up to date with the latest biological research, teaching methods and technological advancements in education.
Attending faculty meetings, workshops and training sessions to improve teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Collaborating with other teachers to create a holistic educational experience for students.

Parent child communication

Maintaining open communication with parents about their child’s academic progress and areas needing improvement.
To address any concerns raised by parents and work towards the overall development of students.
Prepare and submit reports on student progress, maintain detailed records, and follow administrative protocols required by the school.

Skills & Requirement

Deep understanding of biology and its subfields cell biology, genetics, ecology, physiology, etc.
Ability to clearly explain complex biological concepts and interact effectively with students and colleagues.
Sensitivity to diverse learning paces and needs, providing necessary support to students.
Familiarity with educational technology tools to enhance teaching methods and engage students.
Passion for teaching biology and inspiring students to appreciate the subject.
