Job Responsibilities

Planning and preparing lessons in relation to the needs of individual students and the examination syllabus.
Teach music theory, listening skills and practical techniques to students entering the exam and prepare students for the exam.
Obtain appropriate learning materials and resources.
Motivate students and encourage them to progress.
Build and maintain a network of contacts to ensure work continuity.
Communicate with academic staff and parents.
Ensure updated knowledge and awareness of exam requirements.
Assessing students’ abilities, giving feedback and writing reports.

Music Teacher Profile

Proof of enrollment in an accredited college/university or experience in the field completing a state-approved teacher preparation program within 3 years prior to date of appointment.
Clear knowledge of the music curriculum and the ability to implement it.
Ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents and administration.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Confidence in leading a class of students.
Strong organizational skills.
Able to work in a team environment.
