Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans in subjects such as English, math, science, and social studies, and deliver content in an engaging, age-appropriate manner.
- Maintaining discipline and positive learning environment in the classroom.
- Conducting assessments, tracking student progress, and providing constructive feedback.
- Keeping parents informed regularly about their child’s progress, addressing concerns and attending parent-teacher meetings.
- Engage students in extracurricular activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, and sports to promote holistic development.
- Providing support to students with different learning paces and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Schools may also require a teaching certification as well as a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- In many places it is mandatory to pass TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) or CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) for government schools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and adaptability for working with young children.
- Organizational skills for managing classroom activities and programs.
- Creativity to develop engaging lesson plans and teaching methods.
- Basic knowledge of classroom technology or digital tools.
