Job Responsibilities

Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, rapidly growing start-up environment.
Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspection of more complex components and/or finished medical device products using a variety of tools and equipment such as magnifying lamps, microscopes, vision inspection systems, etc. to ensure conformance to design specifications – work at a greater level of independence with a high level of productivity.
Perform functional testing of finished medical device products using both automated and manual valve test equipment to ensure conformance to design specifications.
Reviews, follows, and performs job functions in compliance with established work instructions and SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records and may enter information into ERP.
Verifies manufacturing documents with component and equipment drawings.
Inventory can be controlled to ensure proper storage conditions and movement.
May train colleagues from other sites, including observing their work output.
Arriving to work on time, having regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hours or more.
Other incidental duties: General work area housekeeping.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience.
Diploma in Engineering or equivalent and 3+ years experience.
Previous experience assembling medical equipment preferred.
Ability to understand mechanical, electrical and/or electronic assembly processes.

Skills

Ability to use appropriate tools and equipment, hand-eye coordination and high manual dexterity.
Basic level understanding of inspection procedures.
Ability to respond effectively to product defects and follow up to establish solutions.
Good communication skills
Able to read, understand, speak and write English.
Basic computer skills required, including a working knowledge of manufacturing software.
Strict attention to detail.
Comply with SSI’s environmental health and safety and quality guidelines as they relate to the department’s clean room medical device manufacturing.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Candidate will be required to pass the Basic English Skills Assessment.
