Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, rapidly growing start-up environment.
  • Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspection of more complex components and/or finished medical device products using a variety of tools and equipment such as magnifying lamps, microscopes, vision inspection systems, etc. to ensure conformance to design specifications – work at a greater level of independence with a high level of productivity.
  • Perform functional testing of finished medical device products using both automated and manual valve test equipment to ensure conformance to design specifications.
  • Reviews, follows, and performs job functions in compliance with established work instructions and SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records and may enter information into ERP.
  • Verifies manufacturing documents with component and equipment drawings.
  • Inventory can be controlled to ensure proper storage conditions and movement.
  • May train colleagues from other sites, including observing their work output.
  • Arriving to work on time, having regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hours or more.
  • Other incidental duties: General work area housekeeping.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience.
  • Diploma in Engineering or equivalent and 3+ years experience.
  • Previous experience assembling medical equipment preferred.
  • Ability to understand mechanical, electrical and/or electronic assembly processes.

Skills

  • Ability to use appropriate tools and equipment, hand-eye coordination and high manual dexterity.
  • Basic level understanding of inspection procedures.
  • Ability to respond effectively to product defects and follow up to establish solutions.
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to read, understand, speak and write English.
  • Basic computer skills required, including a working knowledge of manufacturing software.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Comply with SSI’s environmental health and safety and quality guidelines as they relate to the department’s clean room medical device manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Candidate will be required to pass the Basic English Skills Assessment.
